| Trip to London, England, November 1999
Well, I finally got up the kahunas to jet across the Atlantic and check out Europe! What an amazing place . . . everything is so old, yet it holds together just dandy. So Teri and I headed to London, England over Thanksgiving in 1999 . . . we were only able to afford a week, but I think we crammed plenty into that week. I'll try and limit the number of pictures per page to less than 10 but feel free to take a look around . . . we had a blast!! And I hope you do too!!
Picadilly Circus is London's equivalent of New York's Times Square. This is where all the clubs restaraunts, etc. can be found. Here and Leicester (pronounced Lester) Square are where we spent most of our time in the evenings.
Statue of Eros in Picadilly Circus.
This is the top of a monument in front of Buckingham Palace. (See next picture)
Buckingham Palace from a distance, walking along the mall. The mall is similar to the Mall in Washington DC, if you've ever been there.
Looking the other direction down the mall.
[Left] Teri standing in front of the statue near Buckingham Palace. Kind of gives you an idea how immense everything is, and what a crappy photographer I am. ;-)
[Left] I'm about the only one that thinks this is cool, but I'm a geek. Most of the street lights in London are still gas lit. It's kind of cool, at dusk you hear this click click click sound (the igniter) and the lamps all of a sudden light. |
