35 minutes on the treadmill. 1.7 miles or so.
17.5 minutes on the elliptical trainer, 2,400 steps or so.

Another First!

This marks the first time since I've been blogging that I've remembered to fill out my blog every day this week! Now if only I could find a way to do it on the weekends. Since I absolutely abhor the thought of opening my laptop on my "days off" it may be a pain, but if I'm in Yelm, I'll give it a shot.

D: Yesterday I went to the gym again, that's twice this week for those of you keeping score. I didn't make it as early as I had wanted to, but I made it and that's the important part. When I got there, I was still dead tired and didn't want to do anything. But I started out on the treadmill again, and upped the intensity from Tuesday and kept plodding along. As I was plodding, I started thinking about climbing Mount Rainier again. And I started repeating to myself "I am a highly motivated individual. I set goals and I achieve them. I will go to the summit of mount Rainier. I am highly focused on my health and fitness goals and I will reach the top." As I kept repeating this, or some form of it to myself, my tiredness left and I was back to kicking ass on the treadmill. I think I'm going to print out some form of it on a page, have it laminated and stick it up on the wall in front of the treadmill while I'm working out. I may get some funny looks from people, but we'll see what happens. I'm sure you're wondering where all this has come from. Well over the past week and a half, I've been listening to a series of CD's I bought at Mastermind. The speaker is Zig Ziglar and the CD's are his series on "How to Stay Motivated". Zig is a tremendous speaker, and his advice is sound. Some of the things, like affirmations, may seem a bit weird, but I'm willing to give them a try and see what comes of it. I do know that just repeating that little phrase to myself on the treadmill DID give me a boost in energy. After the treadmill (35 minutes) I headed over the elliptical trainer. I decided another 15 minutes would be good for the day and programmed the machine for just that. I cranked the intensity up to 7 out of a possible 10 and away I went. I never really feel like I get a workout on the elliptical machine, but I certainly sweat a lot! After cooling down a bit, I grabbed my breakfast and sat down to cool off and have my morning meal. By the time I was done, I was cooled down enough to shower, which I did and headed out to the office.

I was only in the office for about 10 minutes and off again to Yelm. I grabbed a coke on the way and arrived around 11:30. I only saw two people all day and Marcus dropped by around 5:15. It was a pretty boring day, but I was able to get some administrative crap done while I was out there.

I headed out of Yelm around 6 and met some clients at 6:45 for a quick signature and was off to dinner with my friend David at 7. We had a good dinner and some laughs catching up with each other. I droned on and on about my new obsession with the iPod Nano and how badly I want one, but can't find one anywhere in western Washington. I guess I'll have to order one off the Apple website. Headed home around 8 and Teri and I had some well deserved alone time together. I thought it would be a good idea to finally get a DirecTV tuner installed in her room so if I were watching something she didn't necessarily want to watch, she could just watch something else. What I've found though is that I get home and she retreats to her room and I'm in the family room and before I know it, she's in bed. It kinda sucks. Even though we were only watching TV before, we were watching TV TOGETHER and that was much better. Drifted off to la la land around 10:30.

T: I WANT MY NANO! I WANT IT, I WANT IT, I WANT IT!!!!! Two TV's suck. Going to the gym breaks the drive-thru habit in the morning. Go to gym MORE, go to Drive-Thru LESS. Amazing!

F: Better day, feel like I'm getting motivated again! Having only a couple deals in escrow is a great motivator!
