Who washes their car at 11:30 at night?

So last night I was chillin' on the couch watchin' some TV getting ready for bed and the doorbell rings. WTF? So I get up and look out through the door and their is a guy standing on my porch. Looks like an OK guy, so I open the door. "Hi, I'm your neighbor from down the street. There have been some kids going through the neighborhood egging and I just wanted to let you know that your Toyota got hit pretty good. The cops have been called." . . . . "OK, thanks" I replied. I went back in and put on some shorts (I was just in my boxers) and went out with a towel, spray nozzle and some detergent to begin washing my car. Oddly enough there were 3 of us out there washing our cars at 11:30 at night. I'm thankful to my neighbor for letting me know about it. Egg does really nasty things to a car's paint. I'm gonna have to get him a card or gift certificate or something. So around 11:45 I come back in and hop on the PC. Outside I hear my neighbor Jen talking to the neighbor that was notifying everyone. I hear something about "trying to break in" so back downstairs and outside I go. Mike, Jen's husband, was home by then (he works swing) and there were about 5 of us out in the street. Apparently someone had tried to break into Mike & Jen's house while Randy (another neighbor) and I were washing our trucks. Jen was on the cell phone with the police and sure enough about 10 minutes later they arrived. Mike, Randy and I suspect that while Randy and I were washing our trucks, the eggers were hiding around Mike & Jen's house and wanted to avoid discovery, so tried to get into Mike & Jen's garage. At least that's what we're hoping. There was a description of a "red convertible" thrown around to the police. Of course Mike, Randy and I were pretty amped up by this time, so we took a stroll around the block to see what we could see. We found an egg carton that holds 30 eggs in the middle of the street and some expent paint balls. Definitely teen agers. But on a Sunday night. Weird. AND hitting random targets. Not that I ever egged anyone or TP'd their homes or anything, but the kids I KNEW that did that (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) always had a specific target in mind. None of us has teenage kids. Randy and Mike have 10-ish year olds, but that's awfully young to be targets of eggings. So, I got back in around 12:30 and of course didn't sleep much last night. I'm draggin' Hurlbut today.

Haven't been out on my bike for a few days. Hoping to remedy that situation tonight. I may take my clipless pedals for a spin and try them out. I mounted the cleats on my shoes Saturday evening and jsut sat on the bike practicing putting them into the pedals and getting out of them again. I think I need to up the tension on the pedals a bit, it's fairly easy at this point to "pop out". We'll see after a couple trips around the block tonight.

Teri is heading out of town for the first weekend in October. I'm trying to schedule a boyz day or night with my buds. Depending on who confirms, we'll either go hiking or maybe for a bit of a ride somewhere. Then come back to the house and play some cards or watch some football or both. Should be a blast. Looking forward to it!

Hawthorn Prairie was fairly successful for me this weekend. I think I picked up one new buyer and potentially got a sale and listing out of it too. I'm doing a listing appt. for one person Wednesday evening. Wish me luck!
