Super Embarrassed. 248-340.

Pardon my French, but What the Fuck?  I’m pretty damn sure that’s not French, but you get my drift.  As has been a frequent topic of this blog, I’m back on my weight loss rant again. As you can surmise from the title of the post, my weight has gone from 248 – 340 pounds.  I’m not sure of the exact time frame of this, but I’m guessing it’s around 14 months.  Nearly 100 pounds in 14 months.  How the f**k is that possible?

I know what I eat, and I know that in the last 14 months I’ve been eating like crap.  But I just don’t know how it’s possible to put that much weight on in that short amount of time.  I do know it’s possible to take it off almost that quickly.  It’s the keeping it off that obviously I have a struggle with.

Through lots of experimentation, I’ve found that the best way of eating for me, both in overall health AND weight loss, is a low carbohydrate, high fat, moderate protein diet.  Yes, basically Atkins.  And I’m not looking for anyone to tell me how good or bad this is for the world, and specifically NOT me.  Don’t say ANYTHING about the pros or cons of this.  This works for me.  I’ve had my blood work done while doing it, I’ve had my blood pressure taken, I have had a fasting glucose response test while on it, I’ve had an EKG, I’ve had nearly every possible test you can have while doing this type of diet and the ONLY thing my doctor ever said to me was “I don’t know what you’re doing, but keep it up! I’ve never seen this dramatic results in all aspects of a patient before, so just keep doing it!”  SO NO ADVICE about the TYPE of food I eat is requested or wanted.  Thanks.

I just need to figure out how to make this a lifestyle change and do it for the rest of my life.

Right now, I have to send a picture of my scale (with me on it) to a friend every Sunday.  It doesn’t matter what it says, we just have to do it.  Ideally the chiding we get and give will work towards changing the number downward, but I know I’ve got to make big changes.  I’m going to start with following the meal plan that was given to me the month before weight loss surgery.  More or less.  If you want to know what that is, you can look it up.  But I’m not telling you because I don’t want your advice.

But damn am I embarrassed.
