3.12 and Zero
I’m trying to have my own miracle morning routine and I’m not doing very well. I really should get my lazy Hurlbut out of bed by 5AM and that was the goal this week. Monday I got up at 6, today was 5:40.
I also want to start getting back into the gym. While I’m a firm believer that exercise is a horrible way to lose weight, if I’m not willing to change the way I’m going to eat, then I’ve got to do something. So Monday and today I made it into the gym.
I don’t plan on running 3 half marathons this year as I did in 2012, but I could really be persuaded to do maybe one? I don’t know. I love running when I’m in shape to do it. Right now that is not the case, but for not having run much at all since the Rock N Roll 1/2 marathon in December of 2012, I’m OK with where I’m at.
This morning I did 3.12 Miles on the treadmill. Basically a 5K I started out walking @ 3.0 MPH for 0.10 miles then went to 5.0 MPH for 0.15 miles. I did that for two miles. Then flipped it around and did 0.15 miles walking and 0.10 miles running for the next 1.12 miles. I certainly didn’t set any land speed records, but I got it done.
Zero – So I’ve been trying to break my Coke addiction. I’ve failed miserably in this. Now that Jack In the Box has the CocaCola Freestyle machines, they have Coke Zero. (I think they had it before too) While it’s still Coke, it has zero calories and zero carbohydrates. It’s horrible tasting enough that it may just cure me after all. I am not to stoked that it has Aspartame in it as I’m pretty sure that stuff is really bad for you. But I don’t know it’s any worse for you than High Fructose Corn Syrup, but I’m happy with not having the carbs and calories.
In addition to the Coke Zero, I’m trying to up my intake of water to a gallon a day as well.
One step at a time…

The least of your worries is coke zero when you are eating at places like jack in the box.

Good stuff, I’ve been telling myself that I’ll get on my bike tomorrow, for the last couple weeks, and wouldn’t you know it there’s always an excuse not to.
